Strategies:-
The Manticore, the long range version of the Hydra. Though its damage is a little lower than the Hydra, its range is as much as twice the Hydra's range. It is very useful in scouting and targetting slow but fragile air units eg. Condor. Though many of you may see the Condor as a huge flying fortress, at low levels, they are pretty weak infact. So, using the Manticore, you can slowly pummel the Condor's thick hide while it tries desperately to flee for your oncoming rockets. However, the cooldown of the Manticore can be rather high at sometimes.

Anti-Air:-
Using its long range rockets, the Manticore can serve as a permanent Ground-to-Air fighter. Its dual rocket pods allow it to fire rockets and hitting its target hard. While Manticores can be phase to defend Rocs, Hawks, Owls and other Aviation units of prey, their cooldown and speed are the only drawbacks. While moving to the target may take some time, the Manticore can start its volley far away, hitting enemy Rocs and other inattentive units. The Manticore is also suited for the poccing role as it has a good healthy stock of space (25L). That's a lot and you can probably fit in H-armors and H-weapons if you have good MA and EDU.

The trick to using Manticores is not speed, power or cooldown. But numbers. Because of the Manticore's high cooldown, if you have 7, and you have a TL111 weapon, you can most likely only do 7X559=3913 damage. However, if you have 10 Manticores equipped with a tech 81 weapon (lets say you have 80 tactics and 43 EDU). You can do 10X426=4260 damage per volley. Thus, you need a large group, maybe consisting of 6X2 manticores = 12.
